Most companies seem to accept work from writers who already have published stories, making it difficult to obtain street cred unless you self publish, do web comics, or write for another medium first. Are there exceptions, like independent comic publishers that accept scripts from completely new writers or in anthologies? I've only found companies that accept completed pages from an artist-writer team if they accept new submissions at all.
I want to make a new comic book ( not exactly your typical super heroe in modern city one though ) more like a random epic adventure in a different world. What exactly are comic book publishers looking for these days though ?
I make my own comics based on past teachers. the style is a mix of JTHM and Squee and Invader zim, Lenore, and some spongebob. i have a huge stack of comics i made. anyone know anybody who can get them out into the world?
